First BBQ in Korea!!! :D

Sunny the owner of the Hostel I was in told us about a place near by that had good Korean BBQ so Lynn and I headed there. Turned out it was pretty delish. We ended up having the Kalbi since it seemed to be the easiest thing to order. Here are some pics:

The grill.

The Kalbi surrounded by the ton of side dishes!!!

Yum!! Kalbi, onion, garlic, and mushrooms on the grill.

Not sure what it is called but it had onions, green onions, and cabbage in it, it was soo good.

Ate so much broccoli, I dipped it in the above sauce. :)

An egg stew of some sort. It was yummy. Ate most of it before I took the pic.

A spicy stew.

The food was good and plentiful here. We also had rice and cola but I didn't take a picture. It came out to be about 22-24 dollars and we split it so 11-14 dollars each. We left there pretty full and satisfied. :)

Peruvian Food in Korea!!! Yum!!

So I was looking online for things to do in the city that my hostel was in, which is Hapjeong, and I came across this Peruvian restaurant that they claimed was really good. Now I am pretty skeptic about places that make food from a country completely opposite to theirs although I have to say that the Italian food in Japan kicks ass. Anyways, I told Lynn about it and we decided to go. It was walking distance and when we got there we saw the name "Cuzco" and went up the stairs.

The restaurant was decorated with Peruvian things and not only was the waiter Peruvian but so were the chefs! Score! There was also Spanish music playing which made me feel like I was back in Miami. The food overall was AMAZING!!! And for a reasonable price. I was sooo happy and will definitely go back there!!! Here are some pics of the food we had:

Our coke came in these cool cups.

Our soup which was DELISH!

OMG best lomo salteado ever!!!

Lynn's Papa Rellena!!! The Sauce on top was garlicky!! :)

And arroz con leche for dessert!

Definetly a very good place!!! My meal (Soda, Lomo, rice, soup, and arroz con leche) was $15 only!!! And Lynn's (Soup, soda, papa rellena, veggies) was only $9. I would definetly recommend this place to anyone that comes to Seoul. :)

Little bit of shopping...^^

So like 2 days after coming here I went out with Lynn and did a little shopping. Okay nothing big just somethings I needed...or liked.

The two cutest cellphone charms ever!!! Two baffoon faces :P <3 Miss you sweetie.

A cute coin purse. :)

My metro card. It works on the subway, bus, taxi and even convenient stores.

My cute little guy I made with Lynn near Hongik Univ.

They give you the little guy and you can paint anything you want on him with the marker they give you and also they give you a free drink. I chose orange juice. They were soooo nice there.

A notebook, pencil, led, and and eraser for classes.

Bulgogi Burger...

So John who is from Norway told me about this awesome (according to him) chicken place and seeing as I was hungry I told him to bring me a sandwich since he was headed there. He recommended the Bulgogi burger and I went with it. I have to say, not the biggest fan. I mean it was okay, but wouldn't order it again.  And it had way too much sauce and sesame seeds. Oh well, so much for taking recommendations. Here's a picture:

Kim's Guest House

So since most of the people are either asleep now or outside I decided to take the pictures now since I will most likely forget tomorrow.

My stay has been pretty fun, met a lot of interesting people from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, England, U.S., Norway, Germany, so on. I'll miss it here. The best is I got to meet and get to know Lynn who I will hopefully stay in contact with :)

The departure and the arrival to Korea :)

I haven't quite been posting everyday as I had anticipated but it had been a rough couple of first days so I wasn't really in the mood. But I will try to post some of the things I have done which aren't much then post about stuff in the future!

First off the departure:

Well I got to the airport at around 5:30 or 6:00 AM with my mom, Ammar, Laura, Strawberry, and Carol. It was really nice having them there before I left. I officially said goodbye at around 7:30 AM, which was not easy and many tears were shed. :( I went trough security fairly quickly, I had to go through one of those new machines that scan u and kinda see you body's outline. The whole time I couldn't help but think, I really hope they are enjoying the view. :)

I boarded my plane to Atlanta at 8:30 AM and it departed a little before 9 AM. The flight was quite horrible. It was a small plane and I was beyond uncomfortable! I couldn't wait until I got off!!! When I finally did I was starving and looked around to get some food before my next flight. I ended up eating at a Chinese place.

My lunch in Atlanta. It was fried rice, veggies, and beef. It was actually really good!

After that I headed for my gate to take my flight to Korea. Only problem was that it was in Concourse E and I was in B and after walking for 30 minutes I didn't seem to get any closer. I saw a sign that said Concourse D, E, and F with an arrow pointing down. Went down the flight of stairs and encountered this:

A Subway!!! Kinda...it was a train that took you to the other concourses!

Anyone that knows me knows something like this would amaze me. So I was pretty stunned and I got weird looks as I stood there snapping pictures of this. Oh well.

When I finally reached the gate I tried calling my mom but ALL the pay phones did not work!!! Then I heard an alarm saying that an emergency was reported in the building and that we would be notified of further action. Thankfully nothing happened and we just boarded.

Nothing too interesting happened in the plane. I was sitting in the middle seat next to a guy I believe from China who slept like ALL the way through. And a girl from Vietnam who was nice but we didn't talk much. I slept a couple hours, ate, watched some shows, played games, listened to music. It was comfy though, didn't get anxious. Some pics:

The first thing they gave us: Coke and Honey Roasted Peanuts. They were pretty good.

The TV on the plane had a map function and I found Jeddah on it! <3

The not so delish dinner. The best part was the bread with butter!

I got to the airport at around 4:30 PM Seoul time. I went through customs and immigration quickly then had to wait like 30 minutes for my bags to come. But I met a nice girl from Atlanta who is gonna study in Yonsei University. After I changed my money into Korean Won. After I went to rent my phone. I had made a reservation so I thought it would be quick but again I was wrong. When I finally did I went to buy my ticket for the bus to Seoul. It was about 10 dollars. The bus took about an hour and I almost missed my stop in Hapjeong.

When I did get out I had no clue how to get to the hostel from there so I tried taking a cab but the first one told me it was too close and I should walk. The second gave me the ride but kept talking to me in Korean even though I showed no sign of understanding. We got lost but then he called the hostel and we got here fine. He was so nice.

I don't have many pictures of the hostel but here are the ones I have, if I decide to take some before I leave tomorrow I will post those too.

My breakfast at the Hostel. They have free toast and butter and I bought the orange juice at the Family Mart down the street. They were buy 2 get one free, each about 1 dollar. They love giving you free stuff! :)

The main office and the living room area.

Computer and TV area.

Decor on the walls.

So for now that's all. Most likely moving to my other place tomorrow so I might post another or I might not, we'll see! ^^

Update...

So now there are about 3 days left until I leave to Korea!!! Omg how time flies, but at the same time it feels as though it is passing by sooo slowly! I mean I'm not complaining because I get to spend more time with my loving family, awesome friends, and wonderful boyfriend. ^^

Today I spent the greater majority of the day with my boyfriend Ammar and my two awesome friends Laura and LaEbony. After all the laughs, it hit me, I am really going to miss who we are when we are together. The jokes, the laughs, the crazy moments. I wish I could pack them all up and take them with me! :( Not to mention my mom cried a bit today as she talked about me leaving. Definitely not cool. I will miss her terribly. :(

But anyways to update on my list of things to do:

*Buy 2 pairs of panty hose (Black) [I actually bought 5 pairs, they were on sale, plus I'm sure I will tear them after a few wears]

*Buy Pajamas [Could not find any decent pjs that fit me so I have decided to just go with the ones I have now]

*Pick at least 3 books to take with me [I already figured out these 3 just have to pack them]

*Make a 2 day reservation at a Hostel so I am not homeless when I get there (Don't worry Laura :D) [Kinda did but the thing never sent me a confirmation so I am unsure if they went through, e-mailed them, waiting for reply]

*Make an appointment to do my nails, eyebrows, and hair [Did this, have my nails and eyebrow appointment at 9:00 AM with LaEbony, and Monday is my hair appointment]

*Take my jeans to be tailored [Mom dropped them off at the place, gotta go tomorrow at 3:30 to get them measured, will have by Monday]

*Dry Clean my jacket (I'm pretty sure I won't need it so it is not a priority) [Decided not to do this]

*Print out flight reservation, cell phone reservation, all other papers I need [Printed out the flight and phone reservations, forgot what other papers I wanted to print]

Things I remembered I wanted to do:

*Find my PSP and give it to Ammar along with the charger.
*Call Korean air to confirm ticket number.
*Wash clothes I'm taking.
*Buy cheap web cam for mom.
*Go to aunts house and install SKYPE and web cam for mom to use.
*Finish packing.

Ah so tired and I have a long day ahead of me. Going to try to knock out all the things on my list or as many as possible so that I can spend all of Sunday with my mom. :)

Good night all!
^^
